Tabata is a high intensity workout that mixes intense exercises with short intervals, to create the perfect anaerobic exercise. Tabata is great for improving your fitness, metabolism and it’s also great for burning fat.

I’ve attended several Tabata classes over the years and I’ve always enjoyed them, so I thought it was about time I became a qualified Tabata instructor myself. I really wanted to incorporate Tabata into my Personal Training sessions and now that I’m qualified, I can!

The Tabata Instructor course was attended by several Gym Instructors and Personal Trainers in Cardiff and we all had a great time learning some new techniques. I enjoyed spending time with other Personal Trainers discussing the best ways to incorporate Tabata into our Personal Training sessions.

I’m happy to say that I’m now a fully qualified Tabata instructor and I’m really looking forward to introducing some of the new techniques I learnt into my Personal Training sessions. It’s really important to use lots of motivation and encouragement when you’re coaching someone through a high intensity workout, because this kind of workout is really tough and a 5 minute Tabata session is enough to test even the fittest of athletes!

Tabata is an excellent way to get fit, because the short, high intensity workouts repeatedly increase your heart rate, then bring it down, before immediately increasing it again. This strengthens your heart muscle and improves your lung capacity which really helps improve your overall cardio and fitness.

I recommend Tabata to anyone that is looking to get fit and I’m now incorporating it into my Personal Training sessions.
